Central Training Establishment (CTE)

It was in 1958 on 10th of October, Central Training Establishment (CTE) has manifested from the dream of visionaries in the aviation field of having an exclusive "Air University". Since the time of inception CTE grew like a Banyan Tree, adding on the expertise in the aviation industry and gathering accolades along with the growth. With "Commitment To Excellence", CTE is a true "Gurukul" for achieving excellence not only in training but also in moulding personality and behaviour.

CTE has grown in stature and developed into an epicentre of training in all aspects of aviation and has created a brand to reckon. The products of CTE are all over the globe and especially have become pioneers in the post liberalisation setup in India.

With concept of "Air University" all the training schools have been brought under one roof. With a sprawling campus of 20 acres close to the old airport at Begumpet and Head quartered at Hyderabad, CTE has campuses at Mumbai and Delhi as well. The existing infrastructure has the capability of training its own personnel as well as outside agencies.

Declared as independent profit centre on 1st Nov 1995, CTE has earned lot of revenue in terms of foreign exchange as well as imparting training to airline personnel within India and abroad.

CTE Hyderabad currently houses two A-320 Simulators and in the process of installing ATR 72-600 Simulator, number of class rooms with state of the art infrastructure with associated training aids. It also houses a huge swimming pool for conduct of wet drill for pilots and cabin crew and escape slide mock up, fire drill and A320 family door trainer.

CTE, Mumbai campus has one B-787, one B-777, one B-737-8, one B-747-400 simulators and associated training aids such as door trainer, escape slide mock up and sufficient number of class rooms.

CTE, Delhi Campus is a recent addition and has the class room infrastructure for conduct of ground classes for flight crew.

  • Grant of TRTO approval by DGCA w.e.f, 12-4-2008 now called Approved Training Organisation (ATO) the first operator in India to have been given the approval.
  • Cleared the successive IOSA Audit.
  • Our former-Prime Minister Late Shri Rajiv Gandhi was trained in CTE.
